Both of these lovely Queen Ann style mansions flank the Reid House grounds and all apartments have picturesque
views of the complex. They are furnished individually with oriental carpets, vintage lighting, original artwork
and

Your children are welcome in all, your dog in some.
Smoking is not allowed in the apartments, but it is on the porches if you wish.
Furnishings:
The furnishings vary slightly, but all the apartments sleep two in the main bedroom, have a living room with sleepable

units)

We're in Browne's Addition
Browne's Addition is a small community adjacent to downtown Spokane, flanked by the river. The first buildings
were erected 1886, and a flurry of development followed as Spokane boomed with the mining industry. Many of the
houses are massive wonders of architecture, styles ranging from turreted Victorian to Arts and Crafts. Building
slowed close to 1915 as the mining money tapered off in Spokane, and many of the mansions were converted to apartments
in the late twenties.
Its lovely historic atmosphere and close proximity to the Spokane Hospital Complexes, Downtown Spokane and the
Airport make it a perfect stopping point.
Local Food and Entertainment:
The Reid House complex is within easy walking distance (five blocks) to what many claim is the best breakfast spot
in Spokane, "The Cannon Street Grill."
Right across the street from there is "The Elk" pub--recently voted Spokane's best night spot. Both of
these are located on the corner of Pacific and Cannon, along with a dry cleaner, hair salon, and the charming "Cabin
Coffee" where you can order a latte and inspect a vast selection of baked goods over your paper. Later in
the day you will find the restaurant at Patsy Clark's Mansion open for business, and if you are in the mood for
some true decadence try their Sunday champagne brunch.
Rosauers grocery, just past Cannon Street on second, will happily assist stocking your refrigerator. Huckleberry's
natural grocery (five minutes south on Monroe St.) will provide literally tons of organic produce, meats, cheeses
and other treats.
The Campbell House (a historic home available for touring) and the new MAC Museum complex are right across the
street from the Reid House complex on First Avenue. Make reservations now for the grand opening of the $23 million
all-new Museum of American Culture--currently scheduled for November 2001. There they will unveil their new vastly
increased gallery space and new amphitheater, in the Northwest
Museum of Arts and Culture
Transportation:
A cab to or from the airport costs roughly $14.00
Bus service runs regularly on Pacific to downtown (just five minutes east of Browne's Addition)
Parking is on street, but relatively trouble free and at no cost.
