Private, elegant retreats

Planning a special occasion?

The Reid House--Spokane's most elegant "Bed and Breakfast"-- is available for private rental by day, evening, weekend or week.

We offer five fully furnished apartments
Next Door in the Queen Ann style Gilbert House and Odell House.

Perfect for a short stay - or longer.

The Reid House, a turn-of-the-century mansion in the heart of Spokane's historic Browne's Addition, offers the ultimate in luxury and privacy. It lends itself to a peaceful evening with your family, an elegant gathering with your closest friends, or an inspiring business seminar.

If you'd like to spend the night, sleep as late as you like, the
fully equipped kitchen is yours to use as you wish--or take advantage of the three fabulous restaurants within easy strolling distance.

The Reid House was designed by Albert Held, a contemporary of Kirkland Cutter. Built in 1899 it is a fine example of the Craftsman style. The House is listed on the National Registry of Historic places, and is known for its superbly preserved arts and crafts features.

It is located directly across the street from the Campbell House, just west and south of the greenbelt flanking the new 8 million dollar Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, under construction this year.

This spacious home features hand carved beams, decorative tin ceilings, hardwood floors, and an open, curving staircase. The fireplace is flanked by a pillow-strewn inglenook of built in couches.

Five elegant bedrooms await exploration upstairs. The huge turn-of-the-century clawfoot tub begs you to lounge. The hooded monks on the light fixtures in the main hall remind you of the past.

The Reid House sits on three city lots. It is surrounded by almost half an acre of patios, trees and abundant flower gardens. A variety of spacious porches offer covered views of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture grounds as well as our plentiful outdoor seating areas.

We invite you to explore and let your imagination wander.
